Abstract

The interaction of 3,5-bis(N,N-dimethylaminomethylene)amino-1-methyl-4-nitropyrazole with amines proceeds regioselectively with the formation of 3-amino-5-(N,N-dimethylaminomethylene)amino-1-methyl-4-nitropyrazole. Amines are converted in this way into N,N-dimethylformamidine derivatives. The structures of the compounds obtained were proved by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
